RetardGate

It is all just too stupid for words.

http://theplumline.whorunsgov.com/political-media/palin-camp-rips-limbaugh-hits-his-retard-comment-as-crude-and-demeaning/

Palin believes Limbaugh’s repeated use of the word “retard” yesterday was “crude and demeaning,” her spokesperson emails.

In the wake of Palin’s demand that Rahm Emanuel be fired for saying the liberal activist strategy on health care was “f–king retarded,” a bunch of people have been asking how she’d react to Limbaugh’s tirade on the air yesterday.

“Our political correct society is acting like some giant insult’s taken place by calling a bunch of people who are retards, retards,” Rush said, adding that Rahm’s meeting yesterday with advocates for the mentally handicapped was a “retard summit at the White House.”

I asked Palin spokesperson Meghan Stapleton for comment on Rush’s rant, and she emailed me this:

“Governor Palin believes crude and demeaning name calling at the expense of others is disrespectful.”

It hardly has the passion of her response to Rahm, and there’s no call for him to step down. But given Rush’s stature among conservatives, it’s pretty interesting that she went this far, denouncing his on-air rant as “crude and demeaning name-calling.”

*******************************************

Update: The Palin camp is now accusing yours truly of misrepresenting their quote as part of a secret plot to help the White House.

Last night's SNL skit on Rahm Emanuel's apology was hysterical:

(NBC took it off youtube already because of copyright issues.)

God, I hope Palin is dumb enough to run for president in 2012, it'll be sooooo entertaining!

I'm afraid of that... there are people who believe Obama started these 2 wars, bailed out the banks and put the country $1,500,000,000,000 in debt while turning us into Communist Russia and brainwashing their kids... in a matter of months... If she realizes that all she has to do is lie through her teeth, make shit up, play on fear, and manipulate them the right way, she could win... Fox News did.

there are people like that, but nowhere near enough to make her president. I'd just relax and enjoy her clown around if she does enter the race

Someone should tell her staff that she isn't the governor anymore...

We are a country of very stupid people, so I'm not so sure about that. We just got out of Bush being in office for 8 years, and if that retard can make it, anything is possible!

When I was in high school I got suspended for a day after calling a girl a "retard". Actually, another guy was teasing her by calling her a retard in a really childish way, so I started repeating what he was saying to her in a mocking way. I was actually mocking the other guy, not the girl.

Anyway, turned out the girl has a "mentally handicapped" brother. I had absolutely no clue about her brother.

Her father came in to the school to complain to the principal who called me in and gave me this 5 minute lecture about how "I should know better, how could you be so cruel, etc. etc." without ever mentioning the brother. I said I thought the whole thing was a little over blown, yes it's not a "nice" thing to say, but it's a meaningless common insult. Then she tells me about the "handicapped" brother. I said I had no clue about this, but they didn't believe me!

This was the one and only time I got suspended (despite having done quite a few actually "bad" things I never got caught for).

To make this whole injustice even worse, the guy who was legitimately being cruel to the girl got off scott free! I was told this was because he was a regular trouble maker and that discipline wouldn't do anything for him, whereas there was still hope to "teach me a lesson".

This is why I fuckin' hated the Administration of that school. They were totally unreasonable assholes!

You're right I did.

But, if you're like Immanuel Kant, and you think intentions are what people should be judged on, it was not my intent to mock her brother whom I didn't know about (although I was kinda being a jerk).
